3 Holocaust Museum Monday, April 21 Tuesday, April 29, 2014 A Place to Remember and Never Forget The museum is open any time the synagogue is open and can be viewed at your leisure (Except during religious school hours). The museum flows as a timeline of Holocaust history. A wide array of books, posters, videos, and art enhance the exhibit, including a reading corner of books for young children. Shabbat Schmooze: Shmitta - Putting You in Utopia with Rabbi Allan Berkowitz Saturday, April 26, 2014 after Kiddush lunch (about 1:30 p.m.) Rabbi Allan Berkowitz explains Shmitta and presents an overview of a new year-long program that Beth David will pilot. The Torah mandates that every seventh year we reevaluate our relationship with the earth and recalibrate our efforts to support members of our community. Shmitta is our way of moving society closer to a utopian ideal. Next Rosh Hashanah begins the Shmitta year.
